Contract Type: Full-Time

Your Role as Assistant Practitioner
As an Assistant Practitioner, you’ll be at the heart of our magical environment, inspiring and encouraging children to reach their full potential. Working alongside a passionate team, you’ll create unforgettable moments, build meaningful relationships, and have the chance to grow both personally and professionally through our continuous training and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage Through Play: Facilitate fun, interactive, and play-based learning experiences that are designed to empower every child, ensuring their individuality shines in everything they do.
- Foster Connection: Create a warm and welcoming environment where every child feels seen, valued, and loved. Your positive energy will help everyone feel right at home.
- Champion Individual Needs: Be there to support the unique social, emotional, and communication needs of each child, encouraging them to explore, learn, and grow together.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work as part of a fantastic team to overcome challenges and share in the joy of seeing the children reach new milestones, while always striving to do what’s best for them.
- Ensure Safety and Well-Being: Always ensure the children’s safety and well-being by following our safeguarding policies, creating an environment where everyone feels secure and confident.
- Support Learning Standards: Bring your knowledge of EYFS and OFSTED requirements to life, integrating them into daily activities while making sure every child is thriving in their learning journey.
- Record and Evaluate Progress: Help track and celebrate the children’s progress, supporting their development through reflective practice and giving extra attention to those who need it.
- Empower Decision-Making: Ensure that children and young people feel heard by encouraging them to make choices and have a say in their learning and play.
- Build Trusting Relationships: Create strong, positive relationships with children, families, and the wider team, making Basingstoke Nursery a place that feels like a second home for everyone.
