Senior Sleep Practitioner

Job Title: Senior Sleep Practitioner

Employer: Kids
Location: Hull (with flexible and hybrid working options)
Salary: £13,774.25
Hours: 21 per week (flexible working patterns available)

About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate, skilled, and proactive Senior Sleep Practitioner to play a key role in our SEND Sleep Service. You’ll empower families and professionals to understand and improve children’s sleep through workshops, one-to-one support, and community engagement.

You’ll be based at our Hull office, with opportunities to work from home and in community settings. We’re committed to supporting flexibility — we’ll work with you to structure your 21 hours per week in a way that works for you and the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging sleep workshops and personalised 1:1 support sessions for families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to promote and develop the sleep service.
  • Provide short-term interventions via home visits, online sessions, and phone or email support.
  • Facilitate training for professionals across a range of services, supporting inclusive practice.
  • Build strong, respectful partnerships with parents, carers, and organisations in the statutory, voluntary, and community sectors.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all services are delivered in a way that is inclusive, equitable, and culturally sensitive to the needs of diverse families.
  • Contribute to the service’s online presence through information-sharing and community engagement.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Enjoy working flexibly and collaboratively within a values-driven team.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with families, professionals, and colleagues.
  • Have a good understanding of the challenges faced by families with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
  • Can manage your own caseload and plan effectively.
  • Feel confident leading workshops and group sessions.
  • Are motivated by improving outcomes and making a difference.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting families of children and young people with additional needs/disabilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Confidence in delivering training and group facilitation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Good IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • A flexible, responsive, and person-centred approach.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Children and Families Act 2014).

Education/Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent work / lived experience
  • 2 + years experience in a related role.

Desirable:

  • Lived experience of SEND or family caregiving.
  • Experience delivering adult training or education.
  • Background in education or information advice and guidance.
